AP government teachers to get English training from July 19

The AP Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan is conducting a one-month English training Certificate Course for the teachers of government schools in Andhra Pradesh. It aims to improve the English proficiency of teachers which in turn provides quality education to students.

This course will be conducted online from 19th July to 17th August and the teachers will receive a certificate i.e., Certificate in English Language Teaching (CELT) upon completion. The Regional Institute of English Bangalore will conduct the training after the DEOs identifying the eligible teachers.

The announcement specifies that 25 teachers will get a chance from each district. Apart from expression of interest teachers should have access to the internet and suitable digital device. Preference to new teachers and opportunity for OBC, SC, ST, female teachers is suggested.

They should also have English as one of their teaching subjects and must be less than 50 years of age. Project Director of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan K Vetriselvi instructed the district education officers to send the curated list of teachers accordingly before July 5th.
