Red sandalwood demand, smuggling in Kadapa

With a huge demand for red sandalwood, smugglers find different ways to acquire and meet the market demand to make profits. On regular check-up, police have found a huge dump of red Sandalwood logs under a load of papaya fruits. The complete value stands at 20 lacs for all 33 logs. The case has been registered and the accused are produced in pulivendula magistrate Court.

In a second incident, a raid by police, forest department, and Red Sanders Anti Smuggling task force found 5 red sandalwoods. Further investigation, the forest department finds more people involved in the smuggling racket, and a manhunt has been launched to find the absconding persons.
